This position requires a friendly, pleasant personality, diplomacy and tact, the ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, prioritize, and organize. Basic computer skills are essential, with excel being vital. Other skills needed in this position are analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills. An employee in this position performs duties which provide support to the Director of Human Resources and the Business Office staff.
Supervision Given/Received
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources.
Examples of Work Performed (within HR function)

- Manage application/hiring process through to completion, including but not limited to post open positions on OKWU website, schedule interviews, send rejection letters, order background checks, onboarding paperwork, add new hire information in appropriate databases
- Process all employee terminations
- Manage ADP time clock system; review timecards for accuracy, check times entered by supervisors, train employees and supervisors on system, etc.
- Generate ADP reports as needed for Human Resources and Accounting and Student Services
- Process payroll for hourly employees on a semimonthly basis, calculate employee leave time and holiday pay on spreadsheets and in ADP
- Generate and reconcile benefit and retirement spreadsheets monthly for payroll
- Field Human Resources phone calls and emails.
- File all employee and vendor forms.
- Process I9s for all new hires.
- Manage benefits system for employees
- Assist with administration of all benefit and retirement programs including assisting employees with insurance related inquiries
- Process enrollments, changes, and cancellations of employee benefits while coordinating with accounting when payroll is affected
- Aid in the open enrollment process annually
- Work with Financial Aid department with work studies
- Interview graduate assistants
- Handle all Graduate Assistant paperwork, timecards, and pay authorizations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in every aspect of work
- Order office supplies and service requests for office equipment
- Order business cards and name badges
- Must be willing to meet flexible working schedules, including, but not limited to overtime, varying starting and ending hours, etc.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
