In today’s fast-paced society of multi-tasking and busy schedules, fitting in the time to earn or enhance a degree can be challenging. Juggling many responsibilities—such as work, family, friends, and personal development—can mean that one of those things simply does not get done. Fortunately, this no longer has to be the case.

There has been a growing movement in higher education to provide a more flexible class structure to accommodate various types of learning. Now, classrooms do not solely exist in brick and mortar buildings. As the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) report states, “The ‘classroom’ must indeed encompass all sites where learning occurs— websites, home pages, bulletin boards, listservs, etc.”

The AAUP calls academic freedom “fundamental to the advancement of truth,” and Oklahoma Wesleyan University wants to provide that freedom for its students. For some, academic freedom means having the capability to choose a major not exclusively by the earning potential, but rather by what career path they feel God has called them. This becomes possible with our PURSUE program, which offers assistance to students who need help paying back student loans. For others, academic freedom means a more flexible schedule and the freedom to take classes online, an option that is also available at OKWU.

Our Adult and Graduate Studies programs were designed specifically with a flexible schedule in mind. OKWU’s Adult and Graduate Studies Program has an impressive amount of undergraduate and graduate degree programs options, and beginning this Fall, we are adding three more masters programs. Our graduate degree programs include:

  • Master of Education
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Arts in Theology and Apologetics
  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Master of Science in Strategic Leadership

Oklahoma Wesleyan University aims to provide students with the academic freedom they need in order to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
