When should I start applying for college?

Applying early is always a good idea. We suggest that you apply in the fall of your high school senior year. For more information on the OKWU application process, check out the process overview and checklist.

What is an Admission Rep? Do I have one?

Our Admissions Reps are your guides through the application process. There is an Admissions Rep assigned to every state.

How do I know if OKWU is right for me?

Choosing which college is right for you is an important decision. That is why we encourage you to explore and visit OKWU. We would also love to talk to you about OKWU and answer any questions.

I have already taken college classes, do they count at OKWU?

There are some college class credits that can count toward your degree at OKWU. For information on whether or not your classes transfer, call 1.866.222.8226 or email admissions@okwu.edu.

Do I have to visit OKWU before I apply?

Visiting a college before attending college is helpful but you don’t have to come to visit OKWU before you can apply. If you cannot make it to Oklahoma – check out a virtual tour!

I was home schooled, is applying different for me?

If you were home schooled, you still need to follow the same steps and fill out the same forms at traditional high school students. You still need to complete an application, send in your ACT/SAT scores and submit your high school records.

What is an ACT/SAT? Which one do I need to take?

The ACT and SAT are both national college admission examinations that consist of tests in: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. You can take either the ACT or the SAT to be considered for admission at OKWU.

What is a GPA? How do I calculate it?

Your GPA is the average grade you earned in one semester or academic term. You can figure out your GPA by dividing your grade points by the number of credits you attempted. Talk to an academic advisor at your school if you have questions about your GPA.

How will I know if I am accepted at OKWU?

Just one week after you submit your application you will receive a letter from us letting you know if you have been accepted at OKWU.

If I am accepted, when do I have to decide if I am going to attend OKWU?

Once admitted, we ask that you submit a $100.00 housing deposit to confirm your intention to enroll at OKWU. You can submit this deposit anytime up until school begins in the fall.
