FAFSA & VERIFICATION PAGES
FAFSA Application
No matter what college you apply to, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is something everyone wanting financial assistance must do. You can fill out your FAFSA
- Online – www.fafsa.ed.gov
- On Paper – Your High School guidance counselor should have a paper copy of the worksheet to complete on file. Or, you can download one at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
OKWU’s FAFSA code is 003151
As you fill out your FAFSA, there will be a place designated for “school codes.” By placing OKWU’s code in this space, your financial information will automatically be sent to OKWU’s Financial Aid Office. Each school that you list on your school section of the FAFSA will get your Student Aid Report result.
FAFSA Online
Filling out your FAFSA online is confidential and secure. The first thing you will do is be given a Personal Identification Number (PIN). This PIN acts as your electronic signature – giving you protected access to your personal information. Go to www.pin.ed.gov to recieve your PIN.
Timeline It can take up to three weeks for your FAFSA to completely process so it is important to file your FAFSA early. The FAFSA filing deadline for Oklahoma residents to be eligible for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant is April 15. We recommend that you file by March 31 to ensure that you meet their deadline.
Student Worksheet
Each year, 1 in 3 students applying for financial assistance are selected for review and verification of their application. In this process, OKWU will be comparing information from your application with signed copies of your and your parent(s) 2004 Federal tax forms, or with W-2 forms or other financial documents.
If you have been selected, you must fill out a verification worksheet and submit the forms requested.
