Mission & Passion
The most important aspect of my life is my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My faith in Christ and passion for Christian higher education led me to teaching about eighteen years ago. I am convinced that it is impossible to perform serious academic study without integrating a Christian worldview.
Leadership is my passion; I love to study the various aspects of leadership and greatly enjoy many of the books written by Dr. John Maxwell. Jesus is the best example of leadership that we can ever study.
I have had the pleasure of serving organizations in many different capacities; this has also shaped my belief in the importance of a liberal arts education that is grounded in a Christian worldview. Since most college graduates will change careers several times in their lifetime, they must possess the skills that a liberal arts education provides. However, the spiritual formation of every student is even more important than knowledge, skills, and abilities. Therefore, it is critical that Christian universities merge a liberal arts education with a Christian worldview.
My mission is to enable and encourage OKWU students to become well-rounded lifelong learners with a love for Jesus Christ.
