WICHITA, Kan. – Oklahoma Wesleyan has been unanimously selected the top men’s soccer program within the KCAC this preseason by the conference coaches.
The Eagles were KCAC regular season and tournament champions, finishing the 2017 season with a 20-1-1 overall record and a perfect 11-0 conference record. Oklahoma Wesleyan earned a bid to the NAIA Soccer Championship tournament, defeating Waldorf University, 5-0, in the opening round. The Eagles would then defeat Keiser University (3-0) and Georgia Gwinnett College (3-0), making their way to the NAIA Semifinal before falling to Wayland Baptist University in penalty kicks.
Oklahoma Wesleyan collected 12 first place votes and total of 144 votes for the top spot over the McPherson College Bulldogs, who earned 114 points. Friends University was selected third with 106 points and the last first place vote, while Kansas Wesleyan University was selected to finish fourth with 77 points.
