June 24-27 RISE UP AND SHINE OKWU BASKETBALL CAMP

OKWU Men and Women’s Basketball Coaches will provide teaching in all important fundamental aspects of the game of basketball including skills, leadership, confidence, physicality and how to include your faith in your game.  This camp offers overnight, day and extended day options for those wishing to commute to and from camp each morning and evening.

Boy and Girl Athletes between the ages of 8-18 are invited to attend.

Camp Cost: Overnight Camper $295, Extended Day 9 am- 9 pm $195, Day Camper 9 am – 4 pm $150.

July 22-25 OKWU SHOOTING and ONE-ON-ONE SPECIALTY CAMP

Head Coaches Donnie Bostwick and Mark Molder along with their coaching and player staffs will work with campers on gaining greater depth as a shooter, as well as, honing their one-on-one offensive moves. The focus of the camp is to become an offensive threat both off the dribble and catch.  We will work on finishing at the rim and creating opportunities to score for both yourself and others.  There will be sessions focusing on posting and scoring in the paint as well.  All athletes learn how to correct and improve their shot through evaluation, drills and sessions.

This camp is open to Boys and Girls ages 8-18.

Overnight Camper $295, Extended Day 9 am- 9 pm $195, Day Camper 9 am – 4 pm $150.
Register 1-2pm on Sunday, July 22nd. Bring your own basketball.

June 28-29 Diaper Dandy Basketball Camp

The OKWU coaching staff will be holding a camp for the little Eagles as well.  This camp is perfect for the beginner and is open to kids ages 4-8.  The camp will be from 9 am-noon.  Goals will be lowered and skills will be taught a very enjoyable pace and style.  Help your child fall in love with the game of basketball at a very early age.

Camp Cost $65.00

CAMP DIRECTORS

HEAD MEN’S COACH DONNIE BOSTWICK and HEAD WOMEN’S COACH MARK MOLDER

Both Bostwick and Molder are proud natives of Northeastern Oklahoma and both coaches began their playing careers at Pryor High School.  Bostwick was a Large School All-State Selection and went on to play at John Brown University where he became an All-American and led the Eagles to a National Championship in 1992. Molder was a very successful player for Bostwick at Pryor before finishing his playing career at OKWU as a standout for the Eagles.  The two worked together to lead the OKWU Men’s Basketball Program to the 2009 NAIA DII National Championship.  Coach Molder then took over the OKWU Women’s program leading them to their first NAIA Tournament Appearance in school history and returned at the helm of the OKWU Women’s Program this season. BASIC CAMP INFORMATION

Overnight Campers will stay in OKWU Dorms.  Boy and Girl campers will stay in separate dorms and will be monitored by both male and female staff members.

Groups – Campers will be divided into groups of comparable age and skill level.  Older boys and girls will be divided up as well.  The goal is provide both great competition and a safe environment while at the same time challenging all campers.

Meals – Meals will be held in the OKWU cafeteria.  There will be a concession stand as well.  Athletes can keep their funds in the camp bank so they do not have to carry money around all the time.

Overnight Drop off and Pick up – Overnight campers will arrive Sunday during camp registration.  Camp will end Wednesday at 3-4 pm with a camp final presentation.

Day or Extended Day Drop off and Pick up – These campers will be allowed to be dropped off between 8-9 am at our main gym. Day campers will be signed out at 4 pm, Extended Day campers will end camp at 9 pm.

Gear – Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt. Campers need to bring a basketball with their name on it and basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirts, and plenty of socks.

Faith – Campers will be taught basic Christian Principles.
