Eagles to Host Friends in Semi-Finals

WICHITA, Kansas – (Bracket) – The semifinals of the KCAC Men’s Soccer Championship take place on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The winners of the two semifinal games will move on to the KCAC Men’s Soccer Championship game on Nov. 10.

No. 3 Friends University (12-6, 9-3) at No. 2 Oklahoma Wesleyan University (17-2, 11-1)

No. 3 Friends University was able to put away No. 6 York College on Nov. 3, winning 6-3. Four players scored for the Falcons, including Gabriel Chaves, who led the team with two goals. Three of the Falcons’ goals came off of assists. The Falcons outshot the Panthers 31-10, including an 18-7 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeepers Jesus Herrera Silva and Armando Aragonez combined for four saves.


The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles, seeded No. 2, were able to shut out the No. 7 seeded Tabor Bluejays 3-0 on Nov. 3. Alberto Picchi, Alex Lozano, and Pedro Alberto Benito Ponomar each scored a goal on the day, with Lozano and Stefan Lukic each picking up an assist. Oklahoma Wesleyan had 21 shots to Tabor’s three, with the Eagles also holding an advantage in shots on goal (11-2). Dusan Djordjev, Ognjen Stevic, and Vinicius Sanchez combined only had one save, thanks to a strong defensive effort by the team as a whole.
