Former Eagle Golfer Wins Hill County Amateur Championship

Austin, TX- Former Oklahoma Wesleyan eagle golfer Cody Price won the Hill County Amateur Championship last weekend.

Price shot rounds of 73-70 to win at his home golf course, Crystal Falls Golf Club, in his hometown of Austin. He was the only player under par for the two days of play. He also won this championship in 2011.

Price recently finished his playing career for the Eagles with an 11th place finish at the MCAC Conference Tournament. Cody led the Eagles in the Spring season when he finished 2nd in two tournaments. The first was at Pine Crest Country Club in Longview, TX at the Letourneau Invitational.

Cody shot rounds of 73-69 to finish 2nd by 1 shot. The second runner-up came at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, KS as part of the Haskell University Invitational. He was the leader after the first day with a one-under 71. He followed it up with a 75 on a tough day of conditions to finish 2nd by one shot again.

“Cody was a great senior leader for us. He finished his career very well, and I could not be prouder of him,” Head Coach T. J. Dickinson said.

Price will stay at OKWU and serve on the coaching staff as a student assistant. “We are excited to have him as part of our staff, and we can’t wait to get this fall season started,” Dickinson said.
