SALINA, Kan. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball team was unable to hold on to their halftime lead and dropped a 66-59 decision at Kansas Wesleyan University.
The Eagles led 36-29 at the break, but were outscored by 14 points in the second half to the Coyotes.
Isaac Rowe was the leading scorer for Oklahoma Wesleyan as he compiled 16 points on a 7-for-14 effort from the field. Rowe also pulled down seven rebounds and added three assists. Breiman Alexander came off the bench and recorded 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while Josh Wilchcombe finished with 12 points and six rebounds. David Beck led the team in rebounding as he pulled down eight boards.
OKWU shot 41% (23/56) from the field as a team and 37% (7/19) from behind the three-point line. They outrebounded Kansas Wesleyan by a 32-26 margin but committed 15 turnovers in the game.
Terell Gandy led the Coyotes in scoring with a game-high 18 points.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will host Bethel College in their next game on Wednesday, January 10th. Tip-off against the Threshers is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
