2018-2019 Eagles Highlights

We love our athletic programs here at Oklahoma Wesleyan, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished. Read on for just a few highlights from the last year!

Men’s Soccer:

Women’s Soccer: 

Highest NAIA ranking | #10 

Finished 2nd at NCCAA National Championship 

Finished 3rd in the KCAC at 12-4-1 overall 

Marjolen Nekesa and Ruth Khasoha were named to the 2018 NAIA Women’s Soccer All-America Honorable Mention Team. 

Marjolen Nekesa was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Year and for the second year in-a-row was named the KCAC Most Valuable Player as well as to the KCAC All-Conference 1st Team as a Sophomore. 

Kaja Cremin (SR), Taylor Gross (JR) and Ruth Khasoa (SO) were all named to the KCAC All-Conference 1st Team. 

Kayla Beaver (SO) and Lilly Murray (SO) were named to the KCAC All-Conference 2nd Team. 

Cloe Johnson (FR) and Danielle Uptain (SR) were named to the KCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. 

Klaryssa Heussmann, Taylor Gross, Danielle Uptain, and Lorie Storie honored with the 2018 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for OKWU.

Received votes in NAIA Men’s Wrestling Poll. 

Dayton Marvel Finished 4-1 (6th) at the NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championships at 141 lbs and earns All-American honors. 

Finished 4th in KCAC Conference. 

Ridge Smith (184 lbs), Grant Williams (165 lbs), and Dailen Presgrove (174 lbs) finished 2nd at Mustang Invite. 

Austin Daniels (157 lbs) finished 3rd at the Mustang Invite.

Jake Feickert earned Daktronics NAIA Division II Scholar-Athlete Honor, KCAC Conference Champion of Character award winner for OKWU 


Women’s Golf: 

Qualified for NAIA National Championship Tournament

Won KCAC Conference Title by 22 strokes. 

Finished 1st in four tournaments this season including Conference Tournament. 

Korena Aills finished #1 overall in the KCAC Conference, named to the 2019 KCAC All-Tournament Team, and awarded a KCAC Conference Player of the Week honor. 

Jordan Leonard finished 2nd overall in the KCAC Conference, named to the 2019 KCAC All-Tournament Team, and nominated for the KCAC Champion of Character Award for OKWU. 

Ashlynn Phipps was named to the 2019 KCAC All-Tournament Team as a freshman.

Men’s Golf : 

Finished third in KCAC Conference Tournament. 

Chase Gafner named to the All-KCAC Team. 

Received votes in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. 



Tahlor Stefek won KCAC Player of the Week honor for the first week of the 2019 season. 

Emily Balcom named to the KCAC Gold Glove Team as an outfielder as well as named the KCAC Champion of Character Honor for OKWU.

Track & Field:

Noah Jones placed 9th overall in 400m dash with 54.52 seconds. 

Myles Gladen personal best in 10000m with a 41 4:59 minutes

Tyla Smith placed 2nd in her 100m heat with 13.47seconds. 

Rylea Bolton was placed 4th overall in discus with a distance of 35.54m for her first ever college meet.
