Lady Eagles Golf Finish Season in OKC at NAIA National Championship


The Lady Eagles Golf Team took hit the road to the Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City, OK for their first trip to the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship Tournament. The Ladies struggled a bit in the first round as they shot 343 with Korena Aills highlighting the day shooting a 76. They would quickly bounce back int the second round as the ladies shot their best round in school history with a 316! The round was highlighted by Freshman Ashlyn Phipps who shot her personal best 73, Korena added a 75, and Jordan Leonard was our third round in the 70’s with a 78. As a team, the Lady Eagles missed the cut for the final two round finishing 28th, but Korena Aills was able to make the individual cut with her first two rounds. She would go on to shoot a 73 and 78 to finish tied for 34th in the championships.

Following their final round, Head coach Scott Seymour mentioned that “We had a great week. I am really proud of the girls!”

The Ladies finished off their season with a KCAC conference Tournament title, Korena Aills, Jordan Leonard, and Ashlynn Phipps receiving KCAC All-Conference Honors, and Head coach Scott Seymour receiving KCAC Head Coach of the Year honor.
