No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan scores three goals in second half to defeat Madonna (Mich.)

No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan will play No. 2 Columbia Wednesday at 6:00 pm. CST in the quarterfinals.
- Rodrigo Castro de Siqueria found the net 16 yards out on the left 30 minutes into the first half. The goal allowed the Crusaders to take the 1-0 lead going into the half.
- In second half Oklahoma Welseyan turned up the heat scoring three goals in an 11 minute span.
- The goals were shot by Alberto Picchi, Alex Lozano and Leonardo Dos Santos.
OKWU Head coach Jamie Peterson was asked after the victory, “Your team really came alive in the second half of the game, what was different and what are your thoughts on the game overall?”
He replied with, “Yea, I think we just tried to stay consistent and composed. With that, we felt like, obviously God has blessed us with talented guys. So, let’s not panic and put them in a position to have success. We tried to just tell them to keep plugging away, and keep doing what you’re doing. Madonna’s fantastic, but we felt like if we would just stay composed, we would have an opportunity at the end of the game.”
