BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s soccer team shut out their fellow KCAC opponent the University of Saint Mary by a score of 6-0.
Recently ranked No. 15 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, the Lady Eagles scored three goals in each half to secure the victory over the Spires.
No. 15 OKWU improves their record to 8-1-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Taylor Gross and Marjolen Nekesa led the way for OKWU as they each recorded two goals apiece. Each player also recorded an assist in the match. Kayla Beaver finished with a goal of her own and also an assist, while Cheyenne Brizzee came off the bench to record the final goal for the Lady Eagles.
Sydney Vickers made another start at goalie as she compiled five saves in her 90 minutes of action.
No. 15 Oklahoma Wesleyan will hit the road for their next match at Bethany College on Saturday, October 7th. Kick-off against the Swedes is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
