No. 17 Lady Eagles fall to No. 2 College of the Ozarks on the road

Point Lookout, MO — The Oklahoma Wesleyan Women’s Basketball team played hard, but still came up short on the road, following it’s 80-69 defeat to No. 2 College of the Ozarks on Tuesday night.

The defeat saw the Lady Eagles dropping its first conference game this season, now at 8-1, while its 10 game winning streak was also snapped in the process.

Megan Jones collected 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for Oklahoma Wesleyan, which moved up to No. 17 in the latest NAIA National Rankings.

Jones was particularly impressive from the charity line, after knocking down 18-of-19, while shooting 2-of-5 from three-point range.

Twin sister Delaney Jones finished with 13 points, while Nichole Tate added 10 for the Lady Eagles, who at one point pulled within three points of the lead.

Morgan Smith led College of the Ozarks with a game high 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Hannah Wisdom collected 17 points and six boards for the Bobcats, who moved to 20-3 on the season and 8-1 in the MCAC.
