SALINA, Kan. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer team continues to stay unbeaten in conference play as they defeated Kansas Wesleyan University 5-0 on Wednesday night.
The Eagles used three goals in the first half and two in the second for a 5-0 victory over the Coyotes.
Aleksandar Simovic recorded two goals in the match on his six shots taken, while Daniel Cordeiro also added two goals on eight shots. Alberto Picchi, the reigning KCAC Offensive Player of the Week, finished with one goal and two assists to round out the scoring for the third-ranked Eagles.
As a team, No. 3 OKWU put up a total of 23 shots with 13 of those on target. Kansas Wesleyan only took five shots in the 90-minute match. James Haynik started at goalie for the Eagles as he compiled three saves.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will return home for their next match against McPherson College on Saturday, October 14th. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM at the OKWU Soccer Complex.
