BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The fourth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer team used a big second half to prevail to victory over Saint Mary by a score of 8-1.
Going into the halftime break up 2-1, the Eagles used six second-half goals to secure their eighth win of the season.
No. 4 OKWU improves their record to 8-1-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Freshman Alex Lozano and senior Daniel Cordeiro led the attack as they each finished with two goals apiece. The other four goal scorers for the Eagles were Nikola Fimic, Alberto Picchi, Aleksandar Simovic, and Emil Opsal. As a team, OKWU put up a total of 48 shots in the matches and had half of those on target.
Ricky Perez made the start in goal as he compiled one save in his 90 minutes of action.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will travel to Lindsborg, KS for their next match against Bethany College. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
