OKWU looked to continue their unbeaten streak in the 2018-19 campaign as they hosted the Ottawa Braves. The Eagles hit the ground running and never looked back. They held the Braves to 33% from the field and to just 27% from behind the 3-point arc. The Eagles shot 50% from field and 43% from downtown in just the first half alone. OKWU never would relinquish their lead that grew to as large as 19 points and would go on to secure another 83-66 victory.
OKWU’s senior point guard KJ Malveau led the offense as he had 18 points, 2 assists along with 1 steal on the defensive end. Jake Feickert, another one of the Eagles’ senior guards, added in 16 points and 4 rebounds. Junior forward Lance Tipton made his presence known on both ends of the floor as he collected 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block for the game.
The Eagles improve their winning season to 17-0 and 11-0 in KCAC conference play. Their biggest challenge of the season so far will come on Monday, January 7th as they host the #12 ranked Southwestern College Moundbuilders at 7:30 PM for what is expected to be an exciting OKWU Community Appreciation game day.
