Women’s Basketball Picked 7th by Media, 6th by Coaches’ in Preseason KCAC Polls

WICHITA, Kan. – Following the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Media Day, votes were tabulated for both the KCAC Media and Coaches Preseason Polls. Oklahoma Wesleyan was picked to finish 7th in the Media Poll and 6th in the Coaches’ Poll.

The Lady Eagles are coming off a season where they went 14-17 (10-12) during the 2016-17 campaign. OKWU returns a bulk of their scoring which includes Tiffany Rieger (Sr.), Patience Gitau (Sr.), and Amanda Hart (So.). Other returners include Briana Merchant (So.), Grace Pospichal (RS-So.), Cheyenne Been (Sr.), Mary Hutchins (Sr.), and Sarah Hart (Sr.).

Head Coach Mark Molder returns back to the women’s program after serving as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the past three seasons. Molder’s career record as a Head Women’s Basketball Coach is 61-33.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will open the season on Friday, October 27th, when they host Central Christian College of the Bible at 6:00 PM inside the Mueller Sports Center.
