BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball team held on for a six-point victory over Bethel College on Wednesday evening.
Trailing by six points at halftime, the Lady Eagles came back from a halftime deficit for the second straight game and earned a 63-57 win over the Threshers.
Danae Goodwin led Oklahoma Wesleyan in the scoring column with 17 points on a 6-for-11 performance from the field. Goodwin also added three blocks, two rebounds, and two steals to her stat sheet. Senior Tiffany Rieger poured in 15 points on 6-for-15 from the field and also added a team-high six rebounds. Cheyenne Been connected on two triples and three free throws as she finished with nine points, while Sarah Short had eight points and four steals.
Abby Schmidt led Bethel with a game-high 18 points.
As a team, OKWU shot 45% (23/51) from the field and 31% (5/16) from behind the three-point line. They forced Bethel into 20 turnovers and collected 10 steals in the game.
With the win, the Lady Eagles are now 14-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play. They will host McPherson College on Saturday, January 13th, for a 3:00 PM tip-off inside the Mueller Sports Center.
