Women’s Soccer Dominates Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 3-0 in NAIA National Championship Opening Round

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s soccer shut out Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0 in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.

The Lady Eagles scored the opening goal in the 17th minute and then added two more in the second half to blank the Blue Raiders.

Aracely Ortega got the scoring started when she found the back of the net on a cross from Kaja Cremin. Cremin would then assist on a goal for Taylor Gross in the 57th minute, before collecting a goal herself in the 68th minute to secure the victory for Oklahoma Wesleyan.

As a team, No. 13 OKWU put up 16 shots in the match and seven of those on target. Lindsey Wilson, who has qualified for Nationals the past nine years, put up a total of 16 shots and six shots on goal.

Sydney Vickers started in goal for Oklahoma Wesleyan and had six saves in her 90 minutes of action.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will now move on to the second round of the NAIA National Championship in Orange Beach, Alabama. They will take on No. 4 William Carey on November 27th at 4:00 PM CT.
