Associate Head Coach Noe Ruiz

Current Team

Coach Ruiz enters his 4th year with the Eagles baseball team. Ruiz returns to his duties as hitting and outfield coach. In addition, he will add the duties of Associate Head Coach, this year. In his three years he helped the team to the first two conference titles, regional title, as well as OKWU’s first World Series berth. Under Ruiz the OKWU offense has been inside the NAIA’s top 3 in runs scored each of the last three years. Scoring over 500 runs in each of those seasons. In 3 seasons with OKWU, Ruiz has coached 19 all conference hitters, 2 gold glove outfielders and 1 gold glove catcher. Including 2014 NAIA and ABCA-Rawlings National Player of the Year Jose Ruiz.
Coach Ruiz served as the hitting coach for the Strasburg Express of the Valley Baseball League for the summer of 2013 and Associate Head Coach in 2015. The Express won the Valley League championship in 2015. Additionally, Ruiz coached VBL batting champion and VBL MVP Jordan Tarsovich of Virginia Military Institute, now in the Los Angles Dodgers minor league system, as well as 8 other VBL all-stars.

Ruiz comes to OKWU by way of Texas A & M International University. Noe, a native of San Antonio, Texas, assisted at TAMIU for 3 years serving as the team’s first base coach as well as Director of Baseball Operations. During his time at TAMIU, the Dustdevils set the school record for wins and saw the first two playoff berths in school history.
In the summer of 2012, Coach Ruiz supervised the Connecticut Titans of the Hudson Valley Collegiate Baseball League. He served as Director of Player Development and directed the Titans’ 4 youth teams.

Ruiz is a 2013 graduate of Texas A&M International, with a bachelor’s in Fitness and Sports with a minor in marketing and a received his Masters of Business Administration from OKWU in 2015.Coach Ruiz and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Bartlesville, OK.
