The 2013-2014 school year is in full swing and Oklahoma Wesleyan University is posting higher numbers than ever before. Thanks to the excellent work of Vice President John Means and his team, as well as Dean Kyle White and his staff, the residential campus, as well as the adult and graduate studies program, is serving over fifteen hundred students this fall.

The numbers tell the story. The student population is growing, the endowment is increasing, and the campus is expanding. The Drake Hall Dormitory is on track to be completed next week, September 15. It will be totally paid for and finished under budget. The new and improved cafeteria is complete, much to the students’ and faculty’s delight, and is completely funded. The Carriage House is being remolded into a sports and lounge and game room, and should be completed by the end of next month.

The opportunities for OKWU students and the Bartlesville community are growing as well.  The Forum for Faith, Freedom and Justice houses the University’s Institutes and Centers and provides avenues for students and people of the community to learn, discuss societal problems, and provide solutions.

Next week on September 17, The Keating Center for Capitalism, Free Enterprise, and Constitutional Liberty will be hosting Stephen Moore from the Wall Street Journal for a Constitution Day Celebration. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

This fall, November 14-15, Oklahoma Wesleyan University will be hosting the inaugural Josh McDowell Institute for Christian Apologetics Conference featuring nationally and internationally renowned apologists Josh McDowell, Sean McDowell, Frank Turek, Abdu Murrary, and Dr. James Burkett.

Later this year, the University is teaming up with Eddie Huff and Gloria Jackson to launch The Booker T. Washington Institute for Conservative Black Solutions, leading the way for OKWU to build relationships with conservative black leaders.

This will be an exciting, record breaking year for Oklahoma Wesleyan University! Make sure you are checking the website, in order to stay up with the events and opportunities for involvement.  According to University President Dr. Piper, “We are all humbled by God’s provision and grace. This will be a fantastic year!”
