You are Invited to the OKWU Choral Festival Concert
The Oklahoma Wesleyan University Music Program, under the direction of Jonathan Stewart and Jennifer Beavers, will be hosting the Second Annual OKWU Choral Festival on Thursday, March 27 at the Lyon Hall Chapel of Fine Arts culminating with the Festival Concert at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
The OKWU Relentless (contemporary a cappella ensemble) and Chorale will be featured on this concert as well as the Dewey High School Choir, Nowata High School Choir, Anadarko Chamber Choir, and the Wesleyan Christian School Junior High Choir. A Massed Choir including all participating choirs will be singing “Linden Lea” by Vaughan Williams and “The Heavens are Telling” by Franz Joseph Haydn.
A special feature of the evening will be a Special Commission choral piece by Micheal Stevens. The OKWU Chorale joined by a select group of singers from Anadarko High School will be presenting the premiere performance of this composition, “You Search Me and Know Me” based on the 139th Psalm.
All are invited and admission is free. Come for an enchanting evening and beautiful choral singing.
