Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s annual Homecoming & Family Weekend returns this Friday and Saturday to “Celebrate the Classics.” The artisan baked potato bar will take center stage at the “On the Red Carpet” themed Friday night dinner, held in the main gym on campus.
With this year’s innovative table arrangements, guests will have the choice between dozens of creative toppings, while cutting the typical buffet waiting time in half.
Standard baked potato toppings -including butter, bacon bits and cheese-will be present at every buffet station; however guests are sure to be tempted to try the savory, sweet and otherwise delectable toppings offered this year. Some toppings include caramelized onions and mushrooms, hot chili, turkey with cranberry sauce, grilled veggies with sausage, and peas mixed with curry and mustard seeds.
For dessert there will also be a sweet potato bar with enticing toppings ranging from fresh apples mixed with pecans and cranberries to goat cheese and spinach. In addition, guests will be invited to try the four Premier Popcorn flavors that include cheddar, salt and vinegar, tuxedo (dark and white chocolates drizzled over classic caramel corn) and pumpkin pie. Sugarica, a local Bartlesville favorite, will also have their famous sugar cookies featured at the dessert bar.
Registration is still open for Homecoming & Family Weekend and tickets can be purchased online HERE
Tickets for the Friday night dinner are $10 for current students and $13 for all other guests.
