Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s May 2019 Commencement was a historic one, marking a passing of the baton from the University’s fifth president, Dr. Everett Piper, to its sixth, Dr. Jim Dunn, upon Dr. Piper’s retirement.

Dr. Piper gave his final commencement address at the May 11 ceremonies, and true to his message for the last seventeen years at OKWU, spoke with students about impacting culture with The Four Pillars. The full address can be watched below.

The ceremony concluded with President Piper passing the OKWU Presidential Medallion to Dr. Dunn, signifying the next step in OKWU’s journey that began over one hundred years ago.

Dr. Dunn will officially take office on June 1, 2019.
