The Chesapeake Energy School of Business at Oklahoma Wesleyan University is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated, full-time Business faculty member.

Description

The successful candidate will be required to teach 30 undergraduate hours in both traditional and non-traditional formats on the Bartlesville and Tulsa campuses.  These hours may be completed in 10 or 12 months (online winter and summer terms possible) depending upon scheduling needs. Some additional online teaching may be expected as well.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member is expected to advise traditional undergraduate students, serve on college and departmental committees, pursue scholarly work and/or professional consulting, serve at least one summer registration day and other administrative duties as assigned.  Those candidates that have a passion to develop academic, co-curricular activities, and develop relationships outside of job requirements for our students will be given preference.

Supervision Given or Received

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Dean for the School of Business.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be a committed Christian who is supportive of the educational mission of the University and includes the integration of faith with teaching and scholarly pursuits.

  • A master’s degree in business or leadership is required along with 18 graduate hours in communications (or a willingness to earn them over the next few years). 

  • DBA/PhD in Business or a related field is highly preferred.  Professional certifications (SPHR, CFP, CPA, etc…) a plus.

  • Prior teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness in the undergraduate level is preferred.

  • Professional experience in management, leadership, communications, and/or human development, are highly preferred.
