Mission & Passion
I believe that being a professor is a higher calling, a journey and a privilege that is given to some individuals and carries a tremendous responsibility. A professor is a leader for students, leading them through the discovery of the subject matter and thereby developing skills that will help them navigate through their personal and professional lives. Once my job as their leader is complete, the learners should be left better equipped and as a result, make both their lives and their world’s better places.
I think the responsibility of the professor is to stimulate and rouse a student and be a positive part of their life. Learning should be fun and difficult and stretch the student’s minds and abilities further than they might have ever imagined. The student should be better off from having had the educational experience with their professor.
“As a prisoner for the Lord, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:1-3
“It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:11-13
“Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.” – Proverbs 4:23
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2
