Obamacare Mandate Struck Down for Another Christian College

Louisiana College, a Christian, objected to an Affordable Care Act mandate that violates the school’s founding beliefs.

Their objection was honored. Wednesday the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana declared that Louisiana College is not required to provide certain birth control measures which violate the schools beliefs to its employees.

Alliance Defending Freedom filed the lawsuit against the Obamacare mandate on behalf of the college in February 2012.

“Louisiana is a Christian College that simply wants to continue to operate as a Christian college as it has since its founding in 1906,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Kevin Theriot. “The court did the right thing in striking down the Obamacare abortion pill mandate as it applies to Louisiana College’s health insurance coverage.”

Thus far, this mandate has lost in court 77 times. As the Keating Center supports religious freedom, we hope the victories continue.
