Marketing

“Logos” can have two meanings.

And our Marketing majors understand both.

People typically understand that a company’s logo is their brand, their symbol, and their “face” they show to the public. A logo shows what a company stands for, their values, and their product. But “logos” is also the Greek word for “the word,” which in Christian circles, refers to Jesus, the incarnate Word of God. Our Marketing majors understand that a Christian’s “logo” is, in fact, “Logos,” or Christ primary in all areas, which includes business practices like marketing.

Similar to OKWU’s overarching “4 P’s,” which are our four mission pillars (The Primacy of Christ, the Priority of Scripture, the Pursuit of Truth, and the Practice of Wisdom), OKWU’s Marketing major emphasizes the importance of making strategic choices, ethical practices, and tactical decisions based upon the 4 P’s of the market side of business – Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.

This major provides a strong educational background for careers in marketing by opening the door of opportunity. Marketing serves as the link between an organization and its customers.
