Christian Leadership and Apologetics
Lead with Confidence in What You Believe
In a world of questions, doubts, and clashing claims about what’s true and right, we need leaders who can give good reasons for the truth of Christianity. Leadership and Apologetics majors will be equipped to lead local church ministries and parachurch ministries to educated audiences, who often are skeptical about the truth-claims of the gospel. A degree in Leadership and Apologetics is also a launch pad for graduate work in philosophy, theology, apologetics, business, or ministry.
Learn from Leaders
Oklahoma Wesleyan University has partnered with leading apologists William Lane Craig, Josh McDowell, and Ravi Zacharias to prepare students to be apologists. OKWU is the official repository for both Craig’s and McDowell’s works. Our apologetics curriculum was developed in consultation with Craig’s Reasonable Faith organization. Every year, internationally-recognized apologists like Sean McDowell, Abdu Murry, and Stuart Mcallister speak on campus during the Josh McDowell Institute. OKWU’s Dunn Institute also brings in leaders in business and ministry to train students to combine entrepreneurial insights with ministry.
Key Courses in Leadership and Apologetics Include:
- Biblical Hermeneutics
- Critiques of Christianity
- Multi-Cultural Apologetics
- Practical Theology of Christian Leadership
- Organizational Behavior
- Worldview Capstone Course
At Oklahoma Wesleyan, you will have the opportunity to learn from leaders at the intersections of Christianity and culture, business and ministry, the church and the world. You’ll put what you learn into practice with Christian Service early in your program and an internship at the end. In all these ways, you’ll be prepared to lead with the truth in a world of uncertainty.
