“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
OKWU’s Department of Science and Mathematics seeks to explore the logic and structure of God’s creation in order to worship and serve Him with deeper understanding.
In keeping with the institutional mission, the Department uses classroom devotions, special courses, classroom discussions, and faculty participation in religious convocations (chapel) to encourage students and faculty to explore issues at the interface of the Christian faith and the various academic disciplines of mathematics and the natural sciences.
Caney River Water Research
Conducted by the Chemistry department since August 2016, this project seeks to connect OKWU with the broader community, as well as to promote scientific research among our students. We’re studying the water quality of the Caney River to better understand the unique ecosystem of Northeastern Oklahoma.
