GPS Admissions Counselor

Angel Olenberger

Bartlesville and the surrounding area have been home for most of my adult life. I graduated from Tri-County Tech and from Caney Valley High School; in 2004 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and in 2007 my Master of Business Administration, both degrees through OKWU’s adult programs. After a few years in the management, human resources, and public education fields, God led me back to Oklahoma Wesleyan University, first with traditional admissions and now as an enrollment manager here in the GPS program.

The best part about my job is…

Helping students from all walks of life reach goals they once believed were unachievable. I love getting to meet so many people and help them understand that regardless of their situation, they can have a better future by earning their degree.

OKWU is special because…

It was my last hope of earning a degree. I didn’t think I would ever be able to finish, but with the support of my cohort and the staff and faculty at OKWU, my dream became a reality. Each class is under 20 students, and each professor cares about you as a person. I even had a professor and advisor visit me in the hospital when I missed a class. At OKWU, we don’t only talk about the Christian worldview; it is lived out by each person employed here.

I’d tell a prospective student…

Don’t delay! There will always be a good reason to postpone earning your degree. Time will pass regardless of when you start. By taking the first step and getting started, you are bettering life for you and your family.

When I’m not working, I like to…

Spending time with family is very important. Hanging out with my husband, three sons and one granddaughter is the best time spent. I also love to crochet and watch baseball and wrestling.
