GPS Educational Counselor

Mariandree Campbell

Originally from Guatemala, I came to the OKWU residential campus in January 2008 and earned my BS in Marketing in December 2010. While I was earning my BS, I was a student worker for AGS. I then enrolled in the MBA on-campus in Bartlesville in April 2011, and I continued to work for AGS as the Enrollment Services Assistant. I graduated with my MBA with a concentration in Finance in May 2013. Immediately after graduation, I became an Educational Counselor. Through the years I have added more responsibilities to my list and continue to grow with GPS. I am currently working on my second master’s degree at OKWU; this time I am going for the MSL, expected grad date December 2020!

The best part about my job is…

Watching students graduate! Graduation is one of my favorite days, I get to see my students graduate, and often I get to meet some of my online students for the first time face-to-face. It is a joy to celebrate their accomplishment with them.

OKWU is special because…

Relationships! There is a sense of community within GPS and in our cohorts and classrooms that encourages and promotes relationships and networking. Some great friends and connections have been built within our cohorts.

I’d tell a prospective student…

Prospective AGS students always have a reason why not to enroll – there will always be something going on. Take the leap and start! Education is the best way to invest in yourself.

When I’m not working, I like to…

Travel. 14 countries & counting!
