Mark Shannon

Dr. Mark Shannon is a management and leadership professor who has deep and broad roots in Fortune 500 companies, as well as entrepreneurial ventures. With 29 years of experience, Dr. Shannon has developed the ability to create effective teams, increase employee retention, strengthen employee satisfaction, and develop organizational leaders. His experience includes Northwestern Mutual Life, Lifetime Fitness, and time as the owner of successful smaller ventures.

Shannon recognizes the need and is deeply passionate about developing authentic leaders. He feels that to change the landscape of leadership, authenticity in leadership should be encouraged and developed at multiple levels. Through collaboration, he is committed to using robust methods to develop strategic plans that work effectively. Dr. Shannon has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, an M.B.A. with a managerial finance concentration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Covenant College. Mark is a reviewer for the International Leadership Association and continues to participate in scholarly research in organizational leadership. He also coaches OKWU’s championship-level croquet team.
