Julia will begin her first year leading the tennis program for Oklahoma Wesleyan following 7 years of being the assistant coach and Director of Operations for the Abilene Christian University tennis program.

Before becoming a coach for the Wildcats, she was a highly decorated player for ACU and is recognized as one of the greatest tennis players in ACU history, former All-American Julia Mongin recently completed her sixth season as an assistant coach and director of operations for the Wildcats. Mongin was named to her current position in the summer of 2013.

A five-time All-America and three-time Lone Star Conference Player of the Year, Mongin played at the top line for a majority of her career and left the Wildcats with a spring singles record of 70-18 (.795) and doubles mark of 95-15 (.863). She also earned the ITA’s South Central Region Player of the Year Award as senior in 2013 in addition to ACU’s Paul Goad Award, which is presented annually to its top female student-athlete.

Mongin was part of four teams that reached the NCAA DII Championship, including her junior and senior-year teams that advanced all the way to the national semifinals.

One of Mongin’s greatest fall-season accomplishments was winning the 2010 Midland Racquet Club Invitational singles championships as an unseeded DII sophomore against DI opposition from Penn State, Pepperdine, UT Arlington, Texas A&M, Rice and Tulsa. As a junior she won the USTA/ITA Regional Singles Championship, and went on to place third at the National Small College Championships.

During the fall of her senior year Mongin won the region’s singles and doubles championship and placed fourth at nationals in each bracket.

Mongin, the Juanay-Clan, France native also recieved her Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management and a Master’s of Accountancy while at Abilene Christian University.
