First-Time Student Next Steps
  • Complete your free application online.
  • Have your official high school transcript sent to us here.
  • Request that your SAT or ACT test score be sent to us.

If you’re applying with a high school diploma, you must submit your high school transcript and test scores. In order to be accepted, an applicant must meet two of the following requirements:

  • A GPA of at least 2.0
  • Rank in the upper half of your graduating class at time of acceptance
  • An ACT score of an 18 or higher OR an SAT composite score of *940 (EBRW/Math sections). OR test for placement if no scores exist.
    *SAT test taken prior to March 2016 must be an 860 or higher

If you’re applying with a GED, you must:

  • Submit an official GED Credential
    • Submit a composite SAT composite score of *940 (EBRW/Math sections), or an ACT score of 18. OR test for placement if no scores exist.
      *SAT test taken prior to March 2016 must be an 860 or higher.

 

International Students

If you’re applying as a freshman international student, you must submit your official high school transcript and test scores. In order to be accepted an applicant must meet two of the following requirements:

  • A GPA of at least 2.0
  • Rank in the upper half of your graduating class at time of acceptance
  • A composite SAT score of *940 (based on the critical reading/verbal and math sections) or an ACT score of 18. OR test for placement if no score exists.
    *SAT test taken prior to March 2016 must be an 860 or higher

In addition to meeting the criteria listed above, those whose first language is not English must have a suitable TOEFL score.

  • A TOEFL score of 525 (for the paper test), 69 (for the internet-based), and 190 (for the computer test)

NOTE: All official transcripts will need to be evaluated by an approved organization, i.e. World Education Services, AACRAO, InCred, or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

If you’re applying as a transfer international student, you will need:

  • All official college transcripts must be sent to an approved organization, i.e.  World Education Services, AACRAO, InCred, or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services for evaluation.
  • A GPA of 2.0 or higher converted on a 4.0 scale
  • In addition to meeting the criteria listed above, those whose first language is not English must have a suitable TOEFL score.
  • A TOEFL score of 525 (for the paper test), 69 (for the internet-based), and 190 (for the computer test).

TO APPLY:

  • Complete your free application online.
  • Request that your official SAT (code: 6135) or ACT (code: 3387) test score is sent to OKWU (freshman only).
  • Have your TOEFL, iTEP, or IELTS scores sent to OKWU (if English is not your primary language).

Once you’re accepted, you will need to:

  1. Email a copy of your passport picture to your Admissions Counselor.
  2. Pay the $75 (U.S. dollars) Enrollment Commitment and 50% of the first-semester tuition balance (talk to your Admission Counselor about payment options).
  3. Submit the housing form.
  4. Complete the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Medical Records Process.
  5. Submit the Financial Guarantee Form with a bank statement.
  6. Register to obtain a Passport if you don’t have one.
  7. Report to American Consulate and submit your I-20 to obtain a student visa.
  8. Arrive at school no later than the appointed date on your visa.

Transfer Students

If you’re applying as a transfer student, you will need:

  • A transcript of all academic work from every college and university you’ve attended
  • A GPA of at least 2.0

To apply:

  • Complete your free application online.
  • Have your official college transcripts sent to us.

Once accepted, you will need to:

  1. Complete the FASFA.
  2. Pay the $250 (U.S. dollars) Enrollment Commitment
  3. Submit the housing form.
  4. Complete the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Medical Records Process.
  5. Register for New Student Preview Weekend
