There are three things that you should always look out for when preparing to enroll at an online college or university.
Is that school accredited? Are the programs/courses accelerated, meaning that they’re meant for adults working while getting a degree? And last, is it affordable? If you’re struggling to find a school that checks off all three ‘A’s, Oklahoma Wesleyan University could be just what you’re looking for.
Attending an accredited school shows employers that you have received a high-quality education – an important trait amongst employers of all industries.
OKWU is proud to be a regionally accredited university through The Higher Learning Commission, offering a range of online programs tailored to fit your needs.
Our Graduate & Professional Studies (GPS) programs also hold specific accreditations in Nursing, Business, and Education.
We can confidently say that our students receive the best service from our staff and faculty, and they have access to an array of services to help them be successful in every single course they take at OKWU.
OKWU’s GPS programs have been created with the working adult in mind, allowing students to efficiently balance a full-time job, family responsibilities, and school.
We make this possible by scheduling only one course at a time and making our courses shorter in length to accommodate the same amount of courses in a year as a student attending school full time. Courses at the associate and bachelor levels are only five weeks long, while graduate and doctoral courses are eight weeks in length.
This class framework allows students to focus their attention on each course instead of juggling three, four, or more courses at the same time alongside their normal life responsibilities. We want our students to be successful in their pursuit of a graduate degree.
Earning your degree can be pricey, but online courses typically work out to be more affordable than traditionally taught courses. With no need to travel to the campus and less overhead cost on the university’s part, students can expect to pay less to attend an online class.
At OKWU we understand the economic stress that earning a degree can cause in your personal life, especially for people with families and other responsibilities outside of getting their degree. That’s why we made our online classes accessible to anyone by setting tuition at a comparable rate to our peer institutions.
We also remind students that Financial Aid is available to those who qualify, offering personalized services to those who need help walking through this process. We work with students one-on-one to make sure each one is taken care of and involved in their financial decisions as they embark on their educational journey.
OKWU, the Right Choice
These are only a few of the reasons why OKWU is a great choice for working professionals wanting to earn a degree without putting their life on hold. With over 30 years of experience serving adults with quality education and 15+ years of offering online programs, we can confidently say that our students receive the best service from our staff and faculty, and they have access to an array of services to help them be successful in every single course they take at OKWU.
