School of Philosophy and Christian Thought
Offered exclusively by Oklahoma Wesleyan University in partnership with the Voice of the Martyrs. These mini-terms are designed to be an advanced resource in the areas of Christian persecution and biblical responses to worldwide suffering and injustice. Each mini-term consists of one, week long, intensive, advanced college course. In addition, the mini-term requirement includes a service project with VOM.
The Global Studies Mini-Term is an academic as well as a ministry tool for anyone who wants an advanced level immersion into ministries to the persecuted Christians in the restricted and hostile nations.
OKWU is proud to partner with Under the Fig Tree, a ministry offering Biblical study tours to Egypt, Jordan, and Israel, led George De Jong. The partnership provides direct experiences of biblical geography, culture and languages with opportunities for face-to-face exchanges with those who have a working knowledge in these fields. Each trip and its accompanying courses help students to deepen their theological understanding of the Old and New Testament narratives. This training provides skills to develop a sound worldview by learning what it means to follow Christ in the world today.

Recognizing that an abstract approach to bioethics is insufficient, Oklahoma Wesleyan University is proud to be one of the few universities in the nation committed to equipping the next generation of life-affirming apologists, politicians and pregnancy center executives.
Nationally recognized pro-life organizations are partnering with Oklahoma Wesleyan University to offer certifications in Pro-Life Ministry Essentials and Pro-Life Training. OKWU and these partners also plan to launch a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Bioethics.
