School of Education & Exercise Science
Educating the leaders of tomorrow.
OKWU’s professional education programs prepare future educators, counselors and school leaders to influence their communities and schools, while our groundbreaking exercise science programs prepare graduates for careers in the fields of health, wellness, and physical training. No matter your interests, we have the program to meet your needs.
Our focus is on educating the whole person. It’s not just about filling your head with knowledge, or about refining your beliefs. And it’s about more than practical experience. We want to educate all of you – head, heart, hands, and habits — to equip you to follow God’s calling on your life.
Why OKWU

Biblically Based
Found in the first chapter of Genesis, the concept of imago Dei reminds us that we are all made in God’s image. Our goal is to help place well-equipped and highly qualified believers into our culture who understand the inherent value of people.

Clinical Experience
Our focus is giving you authentic, hands-on opportunities to learn and grow. You’ll step into clinical experiences earlier than many other programs and accrue more clinical hours in our program than is required. Experience is the best teacher, and we want you to experience all your field has to offer.

Relevant Instruction
Our classes allow you to engage with professors who have current, relevant experiences in their fields. They use their diverse experiences to bring the real world to your classes every day, integrating practical instruction with the textbook curriculum.

Relationship-Focused
We want to get to know you as a person and a student. In our collegial, collaborative work environment, our students develop relationships with their instructors that extend beyond the classroom.
