Oklahoma Wesleyan is proud to partner with local law enforcement today (May 16th) to host a special training drill in the morning. The Thursday drill will include a few different scenarios involving an active shooter on campus and will involve a number of OKWU staff, faculty, and volunteers.

The drill will be extremely realistic, from the testing of OKWU’s emergency communications system to the lights-and-sirens response of law enforcement to the actual test scenarios. In order to best conduct the training and for the safety of all involved, campus will be virtually closed during the morning.

The training is an effort to raise awareness and preparedness for both the local law enforcement and the University community. Through this training, OKWU and local law enforcement partners hope to test their response strategies to these types of threats in order to best prepare and protect the community.
