Fueling University Growth

The NOW Campaign continues to drive strategic investment in scholarships, facilities, and student life. With millions already raised, the campaign is shaping the future of OKWU through expanded housing, athletic development, and enhanced learning environments.

Recent student life and facilities projects include upgrades to softball fields, ongoing Wert Hall renovations, and a $250,000 Give Week effort—boosted by a $100,000 matching gift—positioning the residence hall to reopen in Fall 2026.

Wert Hall Renovations Strengthen Student Experience

Renovations to Wert Hall are underway, modernizing a residence hall that has served students since 1974. Updates include improved bathrooms, expanded laundry, and key infrastructure upgrades to strengthen student life and community. The OKWU community rallied during Give Week, raising $192,215 for Wert Hall renovations. Matching gift donations accelerated progress as the project builds momentum toward reopening in Fall 2026.

Softball Fields Relocating to Support Program Growth

A $590,000 grant from the Lyon Foundation will enable the relocation of OKWU’s softball complex from Tuxedo Blvd to the main athletic fields at Silver Lake. Construction begins in the summer, with the new field projected to be ready for play in Spring 2027. The project marks a significant investment in athletic growth, with future enhancements of field lighting still needed.
