Academics: Redefining Education

There is a paradigm shift in higher education, with affordability and flexibility reshaping the landscape. OKWU is positioned to pioneer change in Christian liberal arts, leading innovative endeavors that embrace these shifts and remain committed to preparing and sending servant leaders for enduring success beyond graduation.

Tech-Focused Majors Take Center Stage

The Chesapeake Energy School of Business launched four new, technology-based majors in the Fall of 2023. The new offerings include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Game Development, and Business Analytics. Available through a partnership with the Lower Cost Models Consortium and Rize Education, students can earn degrees in these fast-growing fields while at OKWU. “At OKWU, we’re about empowering students to take charge of their future,” said Dr. Wendel Weaver, Dean of the CESB.

OKWU Pro Empowers Lifelong Learning

A new partnership with MindEdge Learning allows students of any age to enroll in over 350 courses to earn certifications and badges, or to fulfill an employer’s training requirements. These courses are available for as little as $39 and are 100% online, giving students the flexibility they need to continue their educational journey while working full-time.
