Oklahoma Wesleyan is proud to partner again with the Bartlesville Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to host a special training drill today, July 25th. The drill will focus specifically on the speed and efficiency of locking down the University, and the process of having law enforcement clear the campus after a potential threat.

The drill will also involve testing of emergency communication channels to lock down and release the campus. In order to best conduct the training and for the safety of all involved, campus will be virtually closed during the morning.

The training is an effort to raise awareness and preparedness for both the local law enforcement and the University community. Through this training, OKWU, BPD, and WCSO hope to test their response strategies to these types of threats in order to best prepare and protect the community.
