Spearheaded by the Rev. Torrey Martin and the Spiritual Life student leadership team, the OKWU community joined together to raise more than $6,500 for local organizations dedicated to the sanctity of all human lives within the Bartlesville community.

These organizations were The Cottage, BTheLight, and Nehemiah Community Develop Corporation’s Room at the Inn.

“With the Lord’s help and because of the generosity of our students, staff, and faculty, we were able to bless three local organizations that share in our belief that every life matters to God; therefore, every life matters to us,” Martin said.

Representatives from the three organizations were present in Wednesday’s chapel service to receive the gifts.

Earlier in the week, members of the OKWU community gathered in the chapel for Monday evening’s Prayer Gathering.

“Our aim in this prayer gathering was to call on heaven together. To seek the Lord’s guidance as we strive to uphold the value of every human life,” said Martin.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University is committed to the belief that every person is created in the image of God. From the unborn to the aged and everyone in between, every life matters.
