Strengthening the Mission Through Strategic Advancement
Oklahoma Wesleyan University is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Lessman as the new Vice President of Advancement, beginning July 1, 2026. In his new role, Lessman will lead OKWU’s fundraising and strategic advancement efforts, strengthening relationships with donors and partners who help fuel the university’s mission to develop and send servant leaders to advance the Kingdom of God.
Lessman brings a wealth of experience in institutional advancement, nonprofit leadership, and organizational growth. He most recently served as Headmaster at Southwest Covenant Schools in Yukon, OK. He brings experience in development strategy, community partnerships, foundation partnerships, grant writing, and long-term sustainability. His career also includes extensive work in educational and faith-based settings, where he has built meaningful donor relationships and advanced missions through thoughtful stewardship and engagement.

A Return to the Bartlesville Community
Lessman grew up in Bartlesville and knows the community well. He holds advanced degrees from Grace Theological Seminary and has a strong track record of building collaborative teams and advancing organizational goals rooted in faith and community. He and his family are excited to re-engage with the Bartlesville community as they begin this next chapter of ministry and service.
