First-Time College Student
  • Complete your free application online.
  • Upload your High School Transcript HERE.
  • Request your SAT*, ACT* or CLT* be sent to OKWU.
    *You can upload unofficial copies of your score HERE

If you’re applying with a high school diploma, you must submit your high school transcript. Requirement for full acceptance into our undergraduate programs is a 2.3 GPA or higher.

If you’re applying with a High School Equivalency Diploma, you must:

  • Submit the Official Credential (GED, HiSET or TASC) from the testing organization
  • GED Score of 165 or higher or equivalent score on another test
  • Submit a Test Score of an 18 ACT or higher | 960 SAT* (EBRW and Math) or higher | 61 CLT or higher
    *SAT test taken prior to March 2016 must be an 860 or higher

NOTE: A Placement Test is required if no test scores exist

2. Academic Documents: 

If you’re applying as a first time college student, you must submit your official high school transcript and test scores. In order to be accepted, an applicant must meet two of the following requirements:

  • A GPA of 2.3 or above on a 4.0 scale

NOTE: All official high school transcripts must be sent to one of these approved organizations for evaluation: International Credentials Evaluations (InCred)*, World Education Services (WES), American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for evaluation.
*International Credentials Evaluations (InCred) is preferred

If you’re applying as a transfer international student, and your previous college was not located in the USA, you will need:

  • All official college transcripts to be sent to one of these approved organizations for evaluation: International Credentials Evaluations (InCred)* , World Education Services (WES), American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for evaluation.
    *International Credentials Evaluations (InCred) is preferred
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale based off your Transcript Evaluation

If you’re applying as a transfer international student, and your previous college was located in the USA, you will need:

  • All official college transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

3. English Placement Test

In addition to meeting the criteria listed above, those whose first language is not English must have one of the following:

  • TOEFL score of at least 69 internet-based, 190 computer-based, or 525 paper-based
  • iTEP Academic score of at least 3.7 (other iTEP scores are not eligible for an admission decision)
  • IELTS Academic score of at least 6 (other IELTS tests are not eligible for an admission decision)
  • Duolingo score of at least 95

4. International Documents: provide copies of the following items

  • Upload a copy of your passport HERE
    *Register to obtain a Passport if you don’t have one
  • Bank statement/proof of funds to cover at least one year of school costs. If statements/funds are not in the student’s name, a sponsor letter must be included. You can upload those HERE.

5. Admissions Decision & I-20 

Once you have received your acceptance letter:

  • Complete the Steps on the Accepted Students Page
  • Request an I-20 from your Admissions Counselor (this could take up to 2 weeks to be issued)
    *If the previous college that you are transferring from was located in the USA, contact your previous institutions DSO and request a transfer of your I-20
  • Schedule a meeting at the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to obtain a F1 Student VISA
    *this only applies to students who are currently not in the USA on an F1 Student Visa
  • Arrive on campus no later than the appointed date on your visa

6. After You Have Arrived On-Campus

Once you have made it to campus stop by your admissions counselors office to submit the below documents:

  • A copy of your F1 VISA
  • I-94
  • A copy of your I-20 with your signature

If you’re applying as a transfer student, you will need:

  • A transcript of all academic work from every college and university you’ve attended
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 2.0

      LPN to BSN Students

      If you’re applying as an LPN-BSN student, you will need:

      • A transcript of all academic work from every college and university you’ve attended
      • A GPA of at least 2.75
      • Unencumbered license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Oklahoma
      • Students are required to have completed a minimum of 32 credits before entering the LPN-BSN Advance Program but encouraged to have completed all general education requirements

      To apply to OKWU:

      To Apply to The School of Nursing:

      1. Apply to the School of Nursing and Submit Essay
      2. Academic Review –  Completion of a minimum of 32 college credit hours of study
        • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and maintain a 2.75 or higher while in the nursing program
        • Completion of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better:
          • English Composition I  – 3 college credit hours
          • English Composition II – 3 college credit hours
          • General Psychology – 3 college credit hours
        • At least two of the following general Science courses:
          • Fundamentals of General and Organic Chemistry – 5 college credit hours
          • Microbiology – 4 college credit hours
          • Anatomy – 4 college credit hours
          • Physiology – 4 college credit hours
      3. BSN Entrance Exam: ATI TEAS V Exam – The established benchmark for 2022 Admissions is 70.3%. Please contact the Nursing Office to Schedule your TEAS test. Nursing Office: 918.335.6856 or mlittle1@okwu.edu.
      4. 2 Letters of Recommendation – Applicants will submit two letters of recommendation to the OKWU School of Nursing. Email them to Melissa Little (mlittle1@okwu.edu)
      5. Nursing Interview – If you meet the academic criteria you will be contacted for an interview.
      6. Applicant Acceptance/Denial – Once all of these components have been completed, at this point the School of Nursing will review your file and send you a letter of acceptance or denial into the Oklahoma Wesleyan University BSN Program.

      Once accepted, you will need to:

      1. Pay the $75 LPN-BSN commitment fee
      2.  Complete the remaining steps at the Accepted Students Page
