New University Pastor – Rev. TOrrey Martin

OKWU announced that Rev. Torrey Martin would be stepping into the full-time University Pastor role during the summer. Martin began her role in July, becoming the first University Pastor in OKWU’s history.


OKWU Give Day – March 

On OKWU Give Day, the OKWU community partnered with us to raise $150,000 for student scholarships. Plan now for Give Day on March 1, 2023!

Cherished professor retires 

At May Commencement, OKWU honored the long-time service of three professors: Dr. Bill Vieux (left), Dr. Beverly Hartter (middle), and Dr. Mike Fullingim (right), who spent decades as part of the OKWU community. You can read more about Dr. Mike’s journey to OKWU in the latest edition of the Tower.

homecoming 2022 was one for the ages

OKWU’s Homecoming was a celebration of over 100 years of history, and we welcomed alumni from Miltonvale Wesleyan College. At Homecoming Chapel, President Jim Dunn announced the launch of the NOW Campaign, a $68 million capital campaign for scholarships, endowments, improved facilities, and more. We kicked off the campaign with the $4 million lead gift from the Robert and Joyce Campbell family.

It was another great year of athletics at OKWU, with the men’s basketball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer teams all qualifying for the NAIA postseason. The men’s basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship and finished the season with a 34-3 record.

We closed out the year with December Commencement. It is always a joy to see our students complete their academic journeys and prepare to #BeOneSent into the world. Watch the video.
